Optional Calling Features

Anonymous Call Rejection

Description

This feature allows a subscriber to reject a call if the calling party’s number presentation is restricted. A rejected call is routed to a recorded announcement. The calling directory number has to be a number on a network that supports SS7(Signaling System 7)

Operation

To activate Anonymous Call Rejection:
1. Lift the handset. Dial tone is returned.
2. Dial the Anonymous Call Rejection Activation feature access code *77. Confirmation tone/Announcement is returned.
To deactivate Anonymous Call Rejection:
1. Lift the handset. Dial tone is returned.
2. Dial the Anonymous Call Rejection Deactivation feature access code *87.
3. Confirmation tone/announcement is returned.

Automatic Callback (Busy)

Description

If you place a call and the line is busy, depress the switchhook, at special tone dial *66 if still busy hang up. Switch will check the called number for up to 30 minutes. Once the number is available a distinctive ring will be returned to your line.

Operation

Make normal call to the number you were waiting to clear. Deactivate feature: Lift receiver, wait for dial tone. Dial *86, listen for confirmation tone. Feature is deactivated.

Calling Number Identification (Caller ID)

Description

Caller ID allows the customer to see the calling number and name if available. A caller ID box is required and they may be purchase from the telephone company or elsewhere.

Operation

Calling Number & Name Blocking: If you do not wish your number and name delivered to the party you are calling, you must dial *67 before each call. You will hear a beep tone and may then dial the desired number. This feature is deactivated after each call and must be reactivated if you wish to block delivery with the next call. Important: Even if you have a non-published number, the party you have called has purchased/subscribed to the right to see who is calling. Consequently, if you do not wish your name/number displayed, you must dial *67 before you make a call.

Call Forwarding

Description

This feature allows a subscriber to have all calls forwarded to another (selected) directory number. While Call Forwarding is active, the forwarding subscriber can originate calls in the normal manner. The subscriber with Call Forwarding active receives a ring reminder each time a call is forwarded, but cannot answer the ring reminder.

Operation

To set up Call Forwarding:
1. Lift the handset. Dial tone is returned.
2. Dial the Call Forwarding Activation feature access code *72.
3. Recall dial tone is returned.
4. Dial the directory number where calls are to be forwarded. (Speed calling codes may be used if you also have this feature.) The call is completed normally, and when the call is answered the forwarding is activated for subsequent calls. If the forwarding destination does not answer, is busy, or has Do Not Disturb activated, the Call Forwarding will be activated if the subscriber repeats the set up procedure within two minutes of the first attempt. This second attempt will be followed by confirmation tone (two beeps) to indicate successful feature activation. Once you've activated Call Forwarding, the phone will make one short ring each time a call is forwarded. However, you can still make out-going calls from this phone. If you wish to change the number your calls are being forwarded to, just deactivate the first(see below) and redirect your calls using the above steps.
To Cancel Call Forwarding:
1. Lift the receiver and listen for dial tone.
2. Dial *73
3. Listen for tone (two beeps.)
4. The feature is deactivated. Replace the handset, and start over as above for a new forwarding number if desired.

Call Forward Busy

Description

This feature allows a subscriber to have calls forwarded to another (selected) directory number when the subscriber’s line is Busy. When the feature is active it does not affect the normal operation of the subscriber’s line when idle (i.e., the subscriber can make and receive calls in the normal manner).

Operation

To set up Call Forward Busy:
1. Lift the handset. Dial tone is returned.
2. Dial the Call Forwarding Busy - Activation code *90, wait for dial tone.
3. Dial the directory number where calls are to be forwarded.
The call is completed normally, and when the call is answered the forwarding is activated for subsequent calls.If the forwarding destination does not answer, or is busy, the Call Forwarding will be activated if the subscriber repeats the setup procedure within two minutes of the first attempt. This second attempt will be followed by confirmation tone to indicate successful feature activation.
To cancel Call Forwarding Busy:
1. Lift the handset, listen for dial tone.
2. Dial the Call Forward Busy Deactivation Code *91.

Call Forwarding Don't Answer

Description

This feature allows a subscriber to have all calls forwarded to another (selected) directory number when the call remains unanswered for a predefined period of time.

Operation

To set up Call Forwarding Don't Answer:
1. Lift the handset. Dial tone is returned.
2. Dial *92, after tone. Than follow instructions to set number of rings.
3. Dial the number of rings allowed before call will be forwarded(2-9)
4. Dial the directory number where calls are to be forwarded. (The same as the description for Call Forwarding.)
To Cancel Call Forwarding Don't Answer:
1. Lift the handset on the telephone which is to have the feature canceled. Dial tone is returned.
2. Dial the Deactivation code *93 Confirmation tone is returned.
3. The feature is deactivated. Replace the handset.

Call Waiting

Description

This feature allows a subscriber engaged in an existing call to be given an indication that another caller is attempting to obtain a connection to the engaged subscriber. The called subscriber receives call waiting tone and the calling subscriber receives audible ringing. The called subscriber can then choose whether to answer the call (by placing the existing caller on hold) or remain with the current caller and ignore the new caller. The Call Waiting feature applies to the first call made to a busy subscriber. Subsequent callers will receive a busy tone when there is a current caller waiting.

Operation

1. During a normal conversation with another party the subscriber will hear Call Waiting tone to indicate a caller is waiting. The Call Waiting Tone is a single beep, which is repeated only once after a ten second delay. Flashing the switchhook will place the current caller on soft hold.
2. The subscriber is connected to the new caller. The caller on soft hold remains held while the subscriber is connected to the new caller.
To return to the original call:
1. Flash the switchhook once again. The new caller is placed on soft hold.
2. The subscriber is connected to the original caller.
3. The subscriber may alternate between the two callers by flashing the switchhook.

Cancel Call Waiting

Description

This feature allows a subscriber with the Call Waiting feature to disable the Call Waiting feature for the duration of a call. It is activated by dialing a feature access code prior to placing a call, and is automatically deactivated when the subscriber disconnects from the call. This is important for customers using a computer on a line that has the Call Waiting feature, or an important call where you do not wish to be disturbed by the Call Waiting tone. This is an additional feature not automatically provided with the Call Waiting feature. Subscribers who place a call to a busy subscriber who has invoked Cancel Call Waiting will receive busy tone.

Operation

To activate Cancel Call Waiting prior to placing a call:
1.Lift the handset. Dial tone is returned.
2.Dial the Cancel Call Waiting activation code 1170, listen for a special tone.
3 A normal call may now be made and no Call Waiting tones will be received for the duration of this call.
To activate Cancel Call Waiting during an established call:
Note: You must have three way calling to cancel call waiting during a call.
1.Flash the switchhook during an established call. You will hear dial tone and the other party is placed on hold.
2.Dial the code 70#. Confirmation tone is returned and the holding party is reconnected.
3.Call Waiting is disabled for the duration of this call and will be automatically restored when the subscriber disconnects.

Customer Originated Trace

Description

This feature allows the customer to activate a trace to determine the origin of a call. It must be activated as soon as the call is terminated.

Operation

1. Depress and release the "switchhook"
2. Listen for dial tone.
3. Dial *57 and listen for confirmation announcement.
4. Hang up. Number is recorded at the Telephone Company switch if and only if the announcement stated that the trace was successful. If the trace was not successful there will not be a record of the call. This happens when the originating party does not have SS7 type trunking arrangements. This is a new type of signaling that facilitates the forward/storing of call information although it is not utilized by all carriers.
If the trace was successful, the customer must notify the telephone company and or law enforcement agency. The information will only be given to law enforcement personnel.

Selective Distinctive Ringing/Call Waiting

Description

This feature allows a subscriber to receive a distinctive ringing pattern (ordistinctive call waiting tone for subscribers with the Call Waiting featureactivated) for calls from parties on a programmed list, up to 31 numbers canbe programmed.

Operation

To activate Selective Distinctive Ringing/Call Waiting:
1. Lift the handset. Dial tone is returned.
2. Dial the Distinctive Ringing/Call Waiting Activation code *61. Listen for announcement/instructions. Dial 3 to toggle on/off.
3. Add last caller dial #01#
4. Dial 1 to hear list.
5. Add a number (up to 31 total) dial #12
6. Remove a number dial #11
7. Dial 0 to hear instructions. Your may dial 1, 0, #, or * at any time to bypass announcement/instructions

Selective Call Acceptance

Description

This feature allows a subscriber to reject calls from any party that is not programmed on the subscriber’s Selective Call Acceptance list.

Operation

To activate Selective Call Acceptance: Lift the handset. Dial tone is returned. Dial the Selective Call Acceptance Activation code *64. Listen for announcement/instructions. Dial 3 to toggle on/off. Add last caller dial #01# Dial 1 to hear list. Add a number dial #12 ( up to 31 total.) Remove a number, dial *11. Dial 0 to hear instructions, you may dial 1, 0, #, or * at any time to bypass announcement/instructions once you become familiar with the operation.

Selective Call Forwarding

Description

This feature allows a subscriber to forward calls from any party that is programmed on the subscriber’s Selective Call Forwarding list. The subscriber with Selective Call Forwarding active receives a ring reminder each time a call is forwarded, but cannot answer the ring reminder.

Operation

To activate Selective Call Forwarding:
1. Lift the handset. Dial tone is returned.
2. Dial the Selective Call Forwarding Activation code *63. Listen for announcement/instructions.
3. Dial 3 to toggle on/off.
4. Add last caller by dialing #01#.
5. If current "forward-to" number is correct, dial 1.
6. Change "forward-to" number by dialing 0.
7. Selecting Numbers to be forwarded:
8. Add a number by dialing #12
9. Remove a number by dialing #11.
10.Dial 0 to hear instructions.
11. You may dial 1, 0, #, or * at any time to bypass announcement/instructions.

Selective Call Rejection

Description

This feature allows a subscriber to reject calls from any party that isprogrammed on the subscriber’s Selective Call Rejection list. Rejected calls arerouted to the Selective Call Rejection Announcement.

Operation

To activate Selective Call Rejection:
1. Lift the handset. Dial tone is returned.
2. Dial the Selective Call Rejection Activation code *77.
3. Listen for confirmation tone/instructions.
To deactivate Selective Call Rejection:
1. Lift the handset. Dial tone is returned.
2. Dial the Selective Call Rejection Deactivation code *87.
3. Listen for confirmation tone/instructions. Hang up.

Speed Call 30

Description

This feature allows a subscriber to dial frequently called numbers using a short two digit code. A subscriber who has been allocated this feature can store and invoke frequently dialed numbers, each number being associated with a short code called a speed call dialing number. A speed call dialing number is two digits in length.Speed Call 30 provides the subscriber with a list containing a maximum of 30 stored numbers.

Operation

Storing a Speed Call Number:
1. Lift the handset. Dial tone is returned.
2. Dial the Two Digit Speed Call Update feature access code 75#.
3. Listen for Dial Tone.
4. Dial one of the 30 two-digit speed codes (20-49).
5. Dial the full number of the directory number which is to be stored (for long distance remember to dial 1 and area code)
6. Listen for the two "beeps" which indicate that your number has been entered, than hang up. You can now continue entering more numbers to your list by repeating the above procedure, or enter them later
Using a Speed Call Number: 1. Lift the handset. Dial tone is returned.
2. Dial a two digit code from 20 through 49 to access the stored numbers.Press the # button, your call will now be dialed automatically.
A Speed Call 30 Dialing list may be changed by following the same procedure as that for storing a number. A complete number must be entered followed by receipt of confirmation tone otherwise the number previously stored will remain.To delete an entry in a Speed Call 30 Dialing list, the number must be replaced with a new entry.

Speed Call 8

Description

This feature allows a subscriber to dial frequently called numbers using a shortone digit code. A subscriber who has been allocated this feature can store andinvoke frequently dialed numbers, each number being associated with a short codecalled a speed call dialing number. Speed Call 8 provides the subscriber with a list containing a maximum of 8 stored numbers. A subscriber with Speed Call 8 assigned can access the numbers in the list by dialing an abbreviated code.

Operation

Storing a Speed Call Number:
1. Lift the handset. Dial tone is returned.
2. Dial the Speed Call 8 access code 74#.
3. Listen for Dial Tone.
4. Dial one of the 8 one digit speed call numbers (2-9).
5. Dial the full number of the directory number which is to be stored.(for long distance entries, dial 1 and the area code plus the remaining 7 digits).Press the # button, and listen for confirmation tone to indicate your entry has been accepted. Than hang up. You may now enter additional speed numbers using the same procedures above for each of the 8 speed numbers.
Using a Speed Call Number: 1. Lift the handset. Dial tone is returned.
2. Dial a digit from 2 through 9 to access the required directory number stored followed by the # button. Your call will automatically be place.
A Speed Call 8 list may be changed by following the same procedure as that for storing a number. A complete number must be entered followed by receipt of confirmation tone otherwise the number previously stored will remain.To delete an entry in a Speed Call/Abbreviated Dialing list, the number must be replaced with a new entry.

Teen Line

Description

With Teen line service, you can have two telephone numbers assigned to the same line. Each number has a distinctive ring, so you can assign a number solely to the children. Or you can assign a separate number to your home business and one to the family.

Operation

To use Teen line service, wait until the full ringing pattern is complete before answering your phone, so you will know which telephone number was dialed, Your main number will have one long (regular) ring, and your teen line will have 2 short rings. Although you have two telephone numbers assigned to your line, you have just one line and only one conversation can be held at a time. Also, this service does not provide you the opportunity to separate tolls calls. Everything is dialed on you main phone number.

Teen Line with Call Waiting

Description

If you have call waiting with Teen line service the same distinctive ringing patterns of teen line are used with call waiting, so you can determine whether or not to interrupt your current conversation to answer the incoming call. These distinctive call waiting tones correspond to the distinctive ringing patterns.

Operation

To use Teen line service with call waiting follow the same procedures for call waiting. If you have call forwarding with Teen service, you have two options: The first is both numbers are forwarded when call forwarding is activated. The phone number to which you forward these calls does not receive the distinctive ringing patterns, however. Both numbers will ring at the forwarded number as a regular ring. --OR-- Your main number only is forwarded when call forwarding is activated. The secondary (teen) number will continue to ring at home, and can be answered there. The telephone number to which you forward your main number call does not receive the distinctive ringing patterns, however. To use, follow the same procedures for call forwarding.

Three Way Calling

Description

This feature allows a subscriber to add a third party to an existingconversation. The party initiating a three way call (the controller) may placeone party on hold while dialing and talking to a second party. The controllermay then include the held party in a three way connection. The added party maybe dropped from the connection by a flash from the controller. Multiple three way calls may be connected by "chaining" the calls, provided the chaining is done by a non-controlling party in an established three way call.

Operation

To set up Three Way Calling:
1. Establish a normal two party call.
2. Flash the switchhook. Dial tone is returned, and the first party is put on soft hold.
3. Dial the number of the next party.
Ringing tone is returned if the line is idle. When the ringing party answers, flash the switchhook or press the recall button and all three parties are connected.The controller may flash the switchhook or press the recall button to connect all parties at any time after dialing the second party. It is not necessary to wait for the ringing party to answer before joining the call. A subscriber that is busy or does not answer when an attempt is made to add the subscriber to a three way call can be released by flashing the switchhook or pressing the recall button. Flashing the switchhook or pressing the recall button during a Three Way Call will always drop the third party. To leave Three Way Calling: 1. A non-controlling member can leave the call at any time, simply by replacing the handset. When the controller disconnects, the non-controlling members of the call are dropped.
